BN  GP40 projects

I decided I needed some BN ex-CB&Q GP40's.  These units were used system-wide, but were also frequently used by BN between Centralia and Metropolis IL on the various locals and extra freights .  They will be built from the standard Atlas GP40...and will receive the frame milling techniques learned from good friend Brian Banna.  I'll use these GP40's on the computer-controlled  BN locals between the Neilson and Vienna Jct. on my layout.

Thanks to Brian, I have the fuel tanks correctly proportioned for the Atlas drive, and can simply toss the stock Atlas fuel tank and air tanks in the parts box...I'll be using some Cannon and Detail's West parts, as well as Brian's custom designed fuel tanks.  But,  few changes to Atlas' GP40...I want these to go rather quickly!

Building these engines should be pretty straight-forward in regards to the model, since Atlas makes a great starting point model...the HO scale Master Series GP40.  Some modifications will be needed, however, to bring it up to snuff to be on par with what an RPM meet would require...however, the Atlas model is pretty nice, right out of the box.
